The School of Biological Sciences at IIT Delhi was established in December 2008 with the help of a core grant received from the Kusuma Trust UK and a supporting grant from the Institute. The School is committed to excellence in research and teaching. The mandate given to the School is to pursue research in the following theme (and associated) areas (i) infectious diseases and non-communicable disorders (ii) cognitive and computational neuroscience (iii) engineering biomaterials. The School runs a PhD program and a MS Research program for graduate students; for undergraduate students of IIT Delhi, it offers a minor area program in Biological Sciences and a core biology course Learn more.

The School holds two cycles of student selections for its PhD and MS Research program - in May and in December. The onine application portal usually opens about the 3rd week of March and the 3rd week of October.
