Our lab works in the field of single-molecule biophysics, where we explore the activity of various cells and biomolecules using force spectroscopy as well as optical spectroscopy techniques. Currently, using an indigenously developed Magnetic Tweezers set-up, we are looking at the activity of DNA and RNA helicases under different conditions. We compare the kinetic of wild-type helicases with their biologically relevant counterparts. We also explore the efficacy of certain helicases in resolving DNA-secondary structures, such as G-quadruplexes.
